A good deed

I love being a photographer. It's little moments like creating todays photo, that make me proud to call myself one too. If you didn't know already, I'm pretty nostalgic and sentimental, which is probably a big reason why I became interested in cameras. I love looking back at old photos and remembering the good times of the past; don't you?

I was in a supermarket earlier today, packing the bag, when I saw Graham with his new baby boy. He was bouncing him on his knee, and whenever not making faces, grinning from ear to ear. He looked so proud. The little chap couldn't be more than a few weeks old. I carry my camera everywhere for opportunities like this. I went over and spoke to Graham,  explained my project and took a few photos. He made sure to tell me not to publish them before 'the boss' (AKA mum) gave the okay, since they hadn't even updated their Facebook's with photos of their little boy yet.

After a lot of play with Alex Beadon's awesome 'Dress to Impress' photoshop actions, I was left with two wonderful images of a new dad and his boy, that I was more than happy to email straight over. I really hope they like the photographs, and look back on them in years to come. I like to think of it as my good deed of the day.

I also photographed two families playing in the snow for Day 18 of the project, when the snow first came down in 2013. Now if only it would disappear...
