Humans of the Pandemic

Portraits & thoughts from 67 staff at NHS Geroge Eliot Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic first wave

Humans of the Pandemic features portrait photographs of 67 staff at NHS George Eliot Hospital, alongside their thoughts about caring for patients during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic first wave.

As a photographer, it’s been fascinating to meet so many people, hear their stories and photograph in unique habitats. As a medical student, it’s been the best education in how a hospital works and who I’ll work alongside in future.

These portraits will soon take pride of place on the walls of George Eliot Hospital, reminding patients of the staff around them whom were (and still are) there for them during unprecedented times.

Roles featured here include doctors, domestics, maternity, mortuary, nurses, pathology, pharmacy, physio, surgery - to name a few.

This gallery features the 120 portraits on their own. The final project, complete with quotes & thoughts is found here.
